Runs to Remember 🏃🏽‍♂️📸

I develop tunnel vision whenever I run. My breathing and tiring legs take up all my attention. But every once in a while, after the sun has set, I see something that makes me stop in my tracks. It helps that these views show up in the second half of my run — it gives me an excuse to stop, catch my breath, and spare my tiring legs. 🏃🏽‍♂️

Frames of bald tree branches contour the dusk-colored skies as black lines.

The contrast is almost like night and day. But then night really starts to settle onto the sky — and the hues of the dusk start to fade.

You would think that these bald branches would start to loose their contrast against the evening sky. But the contrast only seems to increase, even if it is fleeting — as the skies go completely dark soon after.

Somedays the moon rises sooner than the sunlight fades away. And that allows me to get that rare shot where I can see the moon peeking through the pinkish clouds, against a faded blue sky. This particular moment did stop me completely in my tracks. The orange clouds, the tree with the drooping branches, the wispy moon — they all come together so well.

The pain and breathing make my evening runs forgettable. But frames like these, and being able to capture them with some very incredible camera technology in my mobile phone, make my evenings runs worth the trouble. And make my runs worth remembering.
