In my estimation, computer networks have seen more progress and advancements than has AI/ML.
Which do we think is more likely? A universal 5G network that will enable enough network bandwidth to enable remote drivers to drive cars/trucks from the comfort of their living rooms… all on a public network?
Or an ML architecture that will enable a car or truck to drive from place A to place B, with little to no intervention?
Here’s a prophecy: truck drivers will be able to remote into work sooner than Tesla ships true self driving in the US of A.
